Getting here

Crystal River Orchard
2659 N. Virginia Rd, Crystal River, FL 34428

We’re about 1.5 miles off US-19/98 and just down the street from COPP Brewery & Prohibition Grill, a short drive from downtown Crystal River.

Parking

Park right out front, then walk in. Please pull in at an angle, not parallel, so we can fit everyone. No cars in the orchard.

Tanuki’s on welcome duty! Our farm dog loves greeting folks out front, so say hi when you pull in. (Tanuki lives here, so your pups stay home, but service animals are always welcome.)

Walking in

Once you’re parked, come on through the front gate. The well house with our chalkboard is right inside, and the rows start just past it.

Before you come

Visiting rules

  • Walk-in only. Please don’t drive into the orchard.
  • No dogs or pets. Service animals welcome.
  • Fruit is priced by the pound and weighed in our front shop at the end of your visit.
  • Kids are welcome! Please keep your children within eyesight.

What to bring

  • Closed shoes, not sandals. Ants can turn up anywhere in the field!
  • A hat, sunscreen and ice water. The Florida sun is strong.
  • Cash or a payment app (Zelle, Venmo or Cash App).
  • Nothing to carry your fruit in. We provide buckets with bags to take your fruit home, so please don’t bring your own containers.

Weather policy

  • Florida weather changes fast. If there’s lightning, heavy rain or a storm on the way, we may close the orchard for the day.
  • If thunderstorms are around, we may open late or close early.
  • We’ll post any closing in the banner at the top of this site and on our Facebook. During hurricane season (June–November), it goes in the banner first.
  • When in doubt, call or text Laura at (352) 794-1176 before you drive out.

Accessibility

  • The orchard is flat, and the rows are wide enough for wheelchairs.
  • The ground between the rows is sandy grass, so bigger wheels roll along best.
  • There’s some shade here and there behind the plants, but it’s mostly sunny, so bring a hat and water.
  • Portable restroom on site. It’s not wheelchair accessible, we’re sorry.
  • Have an accessibility question? Call or text us at (352) 794-1176 before your visit and we’ll help you plan.

Take a walk through the orchard

FAQ

Are you open today?

Check the banner at the top of this page or our Facebook. We announce every pick day there with the date and hours.

Can I bring my dog?

Sorry, no dogs or pets in the orchard. Service animals welcome.

Do I bring containers?

No, please leave them at home. We provide buckets (about 5 lb when full) with a plastic bag inside, about gallon size. Please don’t bring your own containers.

How much is a bucket?

Fruit is sold by the pound, not by the bucket. We weigh it when you’re done. A full bucket is about 5 lb, so a bucket of blueberries you pick is about $25 at $5/lb. Short on time? We can pick for you at $7/lb.

Do you take cards?

We take cash, Venmo, Cash App and Zelle. Sorry, no credit cards or Apple Pay (we don’t have a card machine).

Is it stroller- or wheelchair-friendly?

Yes, mostly! The rows are flat and wide enough for wheelchairs, but the ground is sandy grass, so bigger wheels do best. There’s a little shade behind the plants, but plan on plenty of sun. Our portable restroom is not wheelchair accessible. Questions about access? Call or text us before you come.

Can I bring the kids?

Yes! Kids are welcome. Please keep your children within eyesight.

Can I drive into the orchard?

No. We’re walk-in only, so please park and walk in.

What should we wear?

Closed shoes, not sandals, because ants can turn up anywhere in the field. Add a hat, sunscreen and some ice water.

Do you have a military discount?

Yes! Veterans and active military, show your ID and pick a free jar of jam. Thank you for your service.

Do you host field trips or group events?

We can host field trips and group events on request. Contact us to plan yours.

Do you sell plants?

Yes! Blueberry bushes, mulberry trees and elderberry trees in 3-gallon pots, $16 each or 2 for $30. See the nursery →
